ONE TROUPE. ONE PASSION.
EDA COMPETITIVE DANCE.
Dance competitions are an exciting and rewarding experience for the student who is committed to a more intensive study of dance. The EDA Competitive Team is proud of its outstanding successes at out-of-town and local competitions.
We have received awards for artistry, performance, costumes, choreography, concept, creativity and technique. We have a team of dedicated choreographers, teachers, students, and parents.
COMPETITIVE EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Competitive dancers are expected to show a high level of dedication by attending all classes regularly. Before booking any trips, please confirm practice and competition schedules with teachers. March and April are especially important, as final choreography adjustments take place. Extended absences during this time, or missing too many practices, may affect a dancer’s ability to compete.
Competition is a privilege, not a guarantee. Teachers reserve the right to remove dancers from routines if responsibilities are not met.
Missing more than three practices in the competitive year may result in dismissal from the group. This applies even to cases of illness or injury. No refunds will be issued.
From March 20 until the final competition, a “blackout period” is in effect. Any absence from technique or competitive classes during this time may result in being pulled from a routine.
All competitors must participate in ADAPT and RAD examinations or presentation classes (with the exception of hip hop, contemporary, and acro students).
Teachers select costumes, music, choreography, props, and concepts with the goal of showcasing each dancer’s strengths and achieving the best results.
By registering, dancers and parents agree to support these decisions and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude at all times.
Deposits are non-refundable, unless the group does not move forward.
